Support for our community during this time of community tensions and public disorder

Find out what we are doing and how to report any incidents and community tensions

Everyone deserves to feel safe and welcome in Torbay and live without fear of crime or abuse. To help make Torbay a safe place for everyone, the Council works closely with its partners and communities to understand local issues. This helps to shape how we respond to issues and concerns to prevent them from re-occurring.

To help us do this, we need people to share information and report their concerns.

If you have any information or concerns about your safety or, the safety of another person in Torbay, please report it in one of the following ways:

  • Call 999 in an emergency – including when a persons’ life is threatened, people are injured or there is a crime in progress.
  • For community tension/concerns: - if  you feel unsafe or unwelcome when out and about in Torbay Community Partnership Intelligence Portal
  • For hate crime incidents please report to: if something specific has happened that has made you or someone else feel unsafe or unwelcome or has caused you or someone else harm, however small it may seem Report hate crime to Devon & Cornwall Police

Please remember to share any information even if something that seems fairly insignificant in itself, as it may help to piece together an ongoing investigation or identify a new area of concern. So no matter how small the information seems please report it.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Safer Communities Team : safercommunities@torbay.gov.uk
