Open spaces

Find out about the unusually diverse and nationally important natural environment we have in Torbay for all to enjoy.

Parks and green spaces survey - SWISCo, a Torbay Council company, is asking for your views on specific local parks and green spaces (Babbacombe Downs, Clennon Lakes, St Mary's Park, Stoodley Knowle Meadow and Tessier Gardens).

Do you want to know what’s going on in your local area, and would you like to get more involved?

Partners across Torbay are working together to maintain, improve and enhance our parks and green spaces, and to do all we can to tackle climate change.

We want to work with the local community to encourage more people to use their parks and open spaces, both for recreation and exercise, and to encourage more people to volunteer and get involved.

You can get involved by taking part in the latest consultations or by volunteering to help maintain your parks and green spaces.

Torbay Naturally Inspiring is our vision is to deliver an unrivalled quality of life, in one of the UK's most beautiful destinations. Torbay Naturally Inspiring celebrates all that Torbay has to offer.

Torquay is internationally recognised for its picturesque coastline and beautiful green spaces and is the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark.

Litter picks and beach cleans

Do you want to organise a litter pick or beach clean in Torbay?

Any local groups can organise a litter pick or beach clean and will be loaned litter picking equipment by SWISCo, who will also collect rubbish bags at the end of the event. They just need a bit of notice first.

Please Email engagement@torbay.gov.uk if you wish to arrange this.
