Homepage
The homepage lets you see some of the most popular or latest areas added on the Torbay Council website. It's a good place to start if you are new to the site and want to look around. Once you start to look at different parts of the site, if you want to return to the homepage, just click on the 'Home' at the top of the left hand navigation or click on Torbay Council in the top left hand corner.
Hot Topics
This panel highlights important information, campaigns and issues in Torbay. It automatically rotates but you can pause it at any time or move forwards or backwards through the articles or view a text version of all the current hot topics by using the controls at the bottom.
Top Tasks, Pay, Apply, Report and Top Pages
This panel has tabs which highlight the top taks and pages on the website. The online services section will continue to grow in the future to help our customers carry out more business with the Council online.
Search
The website search facility will usually provide the easiest and fastest way of locating information on our website. Type in your search phrase and click the 'Search' button. Alternatively, click the 'Search' button to access a dedicated site search page, where you can refine your search.
Advanced Search
The advanced search allows you to narrow or expand your search to include web pages, and various document types. You can also choose to exclude certain words or search for an exact phrase.
Navigation
The website is broken down into six sections:
- Your Life - Information and advice relevant to different life events
- Your Services - Information on the services provided by Torbay Council
- Your Council - Information about Councillors and how Torbay Council is run.
- Your Bay - Information for residents and visitors alike about things to see and do in the Bay
- Your Business - The latest information and guidance for all local businesses in Torbay
- Get Involved - Find out more about how you can get involved with Torbay Council and/or your local community
Sub Navigation
Once you enter one of the above sections you will notice a list of links on the left hand side of the page. These links tell you where you are in the site and the different pages available in the current section. You can click on any link to move to a different page. Alternatively you can use the links above the current page to jump up to a broader category or go back to the home page.

Our comprehensive A-Z lists services provided by the council and its partners plus other information resources which we believe will be of benefit to you. Please note that it is not a complete A-Z listing of the content on the website. If you know exactly what you’re looking for, the A-Z index may well be the easiest way to find it! You can access the A-Z of council services from the alphabetical list at the top of every page.
