December highlights

  • 2 community protection warnings were issued.
  • 1 community protection notice was issued.
  • 9 public spaces protection orders (PSPOs) were issued for alcohol (7 in Torquay and 2 in Paignton).
  • 1 PSPOs was given for dispersal.
  • There was further enforcement in 12 cases in Torquay and in 7 Paignton. This is where individuals were pursued for incidents including shoplifting and aggressive and threatening behaviours.
  • 9 homeless people were housed in either private rented accommodation or at the Leonard Stocks centre.
  • 69 businesses in Torquay and 58 in Paignton are part of Radio Net. These are portable radios to improve communication between traders and address shoplifting and ASB. The radio system is linked directly into the CCTV control room and the police.
  • 63 Torquay businesses are part of Night Net, a radio system operating in the evening and night-time economy. Street Marshalls and pastors also carry them.
