Senior person’s bus passes will automatically be renewed. We will send it to the address we have on record 3 to 4 weeks before your current pass expires.
Applicants that hold a disabled person’s bus pass and have been classified on our system as having a permanent disability, will automatically be renewed. We will send it to the address we have on record 3 to 4 weeks before your current card expires.
We will use your existing photograph on your current card, or you can choose to upload or email us a new one. You must submit this at least 6 weeks before the expiry of the current bus pass to enable the change.
If you have not used your card within the last 12 months it may not automatically renew. If this is the case, email us 3 weeks before the expiry date. We can renew the card manually in these instances.
If your card has expired and you would like a replacement, we will be able to issue a replacement card. We can only do this if the data we hold on file for you has not changed. If you need to update your information please see our Tell us about a change page for further guidance.
All other disabled person’s bus passes do not automatically renew. You will need to provide supporting evidence via our online portal. This is so you can show you still meet the criteria for a bus pass. We can then issue a renewal card.
If your card is due to expire and you have not used the online portal before:

please apply for a renewal under the section ‘don’t yet have an online account’ the same way as you would for a new card.
If you have previously applied online:

If you do not notify us of an address change eight weeks before your current pass is due to expire and we send a concessionary travel pass to a previous address that we have for you, then you will also need to pay £10 to update your details and reissue a pass to the correct address if you still require a pass.
