You can prevent yourself from getting ill by:
- Staying away from ill people
- Have a vaccination if you are able. The following vaccinations are available:
- Flu vaccination Opens in a new window: people aged 65 years and over and those with chronic long term conditions, or those caring for them.
- Shingles vaccination Opens in a new window: people aged 70 or 78 years old.
- If you are aged between 40 and 74 you can also have a free health check to help you avoid heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.
If you get ill you should:

- Go to your local pharmacy
