Find out about new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging in car parks

We are now beginning to implement EV charging points in a number of our off-street parking places through a project with partners at Devon County Council and Wenea.

The rate of charge will vary at each location, as will the charging speed.

How to use the EV charging point

  1. Login to the Wenea App
    • Log in or register, then enter your payment card details in ‘My Payment Methods’ within ‘Personal Data’ section. Or pay at the charger using contactless payment.
  1. Find your charging point
    • On the map, search for the location where you want to charge.
    • Select a convenient available charger.
    • Click on ‘Charge Vehicle’.
  1. Start Charging
    • Press ‘Start Charging’.
    • Plug the selected connector to the vehicle.

Note – It will take up to one minute to receive confirmation of charging.

  1. Stop Charging
    • To stop charging and end session click on ‘Finish Charge’.
    • Unplug the connector from the vehicle.

Note – The connector may remain locked for up to one minute after charging has stopped.

Other conditions of use of the EV charging bay

  • The driver of a vehicle shall not permit any vehicle to wait in an EV charging bay unless the vehicle is an electric vehicle.
  • Any electric vehicle left in an EV charging bay must be connected to an EV charging point, and be in the process of being charged.
  • Standard parking fees still apply for the EV charging bays in addition to the cost of using the EV charging point, the appropriate fee for parking must be paid for the entire duration of the vehicle being charged.
  • Vehicles must be parked wholly within the EV charging bays.
  • Any driver who parks their electric vehicle in the EV charging bays must adhere to any maximum stay applicable to that car park.
  • No person may use the EV charging points for any purpose other than for charging an electric vehicle that is parked within an EV charging bay.
