Torbay Lottery celebrates another win, last weekend a local Torquay player supporting South Devon Cats Rehoming scooped £2,000! This is our seventh person to win £2,000 since the Torbay Lottery was launched in 2017. In total, £51,100 has been won by our supporters and almost £213,800 has been raised for the local community.
Torbay Lottery is an online sustainable fundraising solution provided on by Gatherwell Ltd with no upfront costs. It’s designed to help local not-for-profit organisations to diversify their fundraising streams and enable year-round fundraising in a safe, fun and effective way. Buy a ‘chance’ and support the local community today by playing the lottery. There are 147 registered causes to choose to help with your ticket purchase. The chosen cause receives 50% of the £1 ticket with an additional 10% going to further support the local community through the annual Small Grants Fund. There are weekly cash prizes to be won up to the value of the £25,000 jackpot and with 50:1 odds of winning a prize you’ll find a bit of fun at the same time as knowing you’re really helping your local community.
Councillor Alan Tyerman, Cabinet Member for Housing, Finance and Corporate Services “Congratulations to the latest winner. £2,000 is a significant amount to win, especially with the current cost of living pressures, I hope Ms K enjoys putting this towards something special.
“We are always looking for new local groups to join the lottery and benefit from monthly income generated through ticket sales as well as through the Small Grants Fund which is opened at the start of each year for local groups to bid for up to £2,000 towards the cost of specific items. To sign up visit the Torbay Lottery website.”
The Torbay Lottery is a council initiative, empowering local groups to generate vital funds in a fun and effective way, while enabling players to support the causes they care about the most.
Draws take place every Saturday night. To be in with a chance to scoop up to £25,000, go to the Torbay Lottery website and sign up today. Several ticket holders have won £2,000.

Further information about Torbay Lottery
Tickets cost £1, with 60p going to Torbay’s good causes, compared to just 28p in the pound for the National Lottery. As well as supporting their community, players can win a number of prizes through a weekly draw – including a jackpot of £25,000 for a matching sequence of six numbers.
There are two elements to the scheme. Community groups will be able to set up their own lottery page on the Torbay Lottery website where they will receive 50p in every pound spent through their cause. Another 10p will go into a general good cause fund, with the remainder going to running costs, prizes and VAT. The council will take none of the proceeds, although it will act as the overall license holder.
Players without an affiliation to a particular cause can still support the Torbay Lottery, where 60p from their ticket price will go into the general good cause fund, which will be distributed by Torbay Council.
