We want to know your views about life in Torbay to help shape the future of public services.
We are committed to putting our residents at the heart of everything we do, so we are introducing regular surveys to get important feedback about what matters to you.
The results will help us understand what our residents think of us and the services we provide.
The questions will also ask people in the Bay about their sense of belonging, how safe they feel outside and their views on anti-social behaviour.
The first Your Say Torbay survey roadshows start on Friday 30 June 2023, and run for three weeks until Friday 21 July 2023.
We have organised a series of pop-up roadshow events across Torbay for residents to ask questions and complete the survey.
Councillors and senior officers will be there to talk to residents about our services. See below for locations and times.
The survey will also be available to complete online on our website.
Paper copies for those unable to access the internet will be available at venues across Torbay.
Leaflets with QR codes linking to the survey will be distributed during the campaign to encourage more people to get involved.
There is one set of questions for residents aged 16 and above, and a separate online-only version for those aged 12 to 15 to ensure we are hearing from young people.
Our aim is to gather a representative sample of views from residents of different ages right across the Bay.
We are using the standard questions produced by the Local Government Association so we will be able to compare results with other councils. The results will also give us a benchmark to compare the outcome of future surveys in Torbay to see how we are doing. This will support ongoing improvements in our services.
Leader of Torbay Council Cllr David Thomas said: “Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to listening to what they say.
“Introducing regular residents surveys will provide ongoing feedback on what is important to local people. This will help us ensure we are continually focused on their priorities.
“The survey will help us understand what residents think of the Council, the services we provide as well as other aspects of life in Torbay.
“We will undertake this survey on a regular basis so that we can check that we are making the improvements that people want to see.
‘Please come along, have a chat and give us your views."
See below for full details of where the Your Say Torbay roadshow will be visiting during the survey period.
