A number of roadworks will be taking place across Torbay throughout March and April.

March - resurfacing works

From 9 March there will be resurfacing work at Kingswear Road in Brixham (from Gattery Lane to Hill Head), for four days with the road closed to traffic. There will be a diversion along Dartmouth Road, New Road, Monksbridge, Horsepool, ending at Milton Street (with the other direction diverted along the same roads but in reverse).

In addition, TOR2 will be undertaking essential highway maintenance works (carriageway patching works) between Kennels Road and Churston Common for five days from March 16 2020 between 9:30am and 3pm.

Other resurfacing work due to take place in March includes Yew Close and Meadow Park in Brixham, and Oatlands Drive Paignton - the exact date for this to start is to be confirmed. The work will be carried out by Cormac.

April - surface dressing and micro asphalting works

On 3 and 4 April, surface dressing work will be taking place in Brixham at Elm Road/Cedar Way, Summerlands Close, Cotmore Close, Deep Dene Close, Downfield Close, Conniston Close, Summercourt Way, Bellever Tor Drive, and Chestnut Drive. They will also be carrying out this work at Hellevosluis Way in Torquay.

From 5 to 8 April, micro asphalting will take place in Torquay at Sherwell Valley Road, Roundhill Road, Mead Road and Broadpark Road. There will also be micro asphalting in Broadsands Road, Paignton on the same dates.

All of these works will be carried out under lane closures with all sites signed and residents informed of the works in advance by the contractor. These works are weather dependent so the stated dates may move slightly.

April’s roadworks will be carried out by Hazel & Jefferies.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said: “As part of our continuous commitment to structural maintenance across the Bay, these works are necessary and need to be carried out. We are aware these works will be disruptive, so we ask anyone who needs to use this area during this time to look at taking a different route. Local schools and businesses are being notified and we will work with our contractor to minimise the disruption as much as possible.”
