We are excited to announce that Torbay Rocks is coming to Torre Abbey Museum this January!

From Saturday 12 January through to Sunday 24 March, you will be able to pay normal admission at the Abbey and see this fascinating exhibition, which features a range of music memorabilia from the archive of local personality - Lionel Digby.

Lionel was one of the Bay’s best music and club promoters throughout the 60s and 70s and was responsible for bringing some of the biggest bands of the time to Torbay. Many of his artefacts such as posters and photographs have been kept in storage and will be on display for the first time.

Cllr Nicole Amil, Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, said: “This is a fantastic exhibition for Torre Abbey and is steeped in recent local history. Lionel has done many interesting things in his life including meeting world famous bands that visited the Bay during the 60s and 70s. It is great that he will be able to tell some of these stories through this wonderful exhibition.”

Did you attend any of his events at the Town Hall? We asking residents and visitors to the Bay to share their best Lionel moments using the following hashtags on Twitter #MyFirstGig #GigAntics

The exhibition is suitable for all ages and will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm (last admission at 4pm).
