On Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 March hundreds of children will be performing at the Annual Torbay Schools’ Festival of Performing Arts.
The event takes place at the Riviera International Conference Centre at 6.30pm over the three evenings.
The festival is run by Torbay Music Service for Torbay Music Hub and is a major event in the Torbay Cultural Calendar. This festival gives schools the opportunity to showcase the best of their young people’s musical talent. With choirs, performing arts groups, bands and orchestras exhibiting genres from classical through to jazz, rock, pop and world music, the variety is huge.
Thirty seven school and community groups with over thirteen hundred performers will take part in the colourful and vibrant showcase over three nights.
The festival provides a professional environment for local children and young people to perform, with professional staging, lighting and sound and a huge audience to perform in front of.
Executive Lead of Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Councillor Nicole Amil, said: “The Torbay Schools’ Festival of Performing Arts is a real highlight on the cultural calendar. It is wonderful to see the children and young people from the area get to showcase their talents in a professional environment.”
Tickets are available directly from the Riviera Centre either directly or be telephoning 01803 299992.
