A unique performance and exhibition from the Chin Up team will be taking place as part of Armed Forces Day on Saturday 20 June.

The Chin Up project, funded by an Armed Forces Community Covenant Grant, has spent two years collecting different stories, from young people to veterans, about their experiences of wartime entertainment.

Armed Forces Champion, Cllr Nicole Amil, said: “On Armed Forces Day, a group of young people will be putting on performances to show the important role entertainment, from Agincourt to Afghanistan, plays in supporting our armed forces.

“There will also be an exhibition to showcase these powerful and moving stories. Everyone is welcome to attend the event so please come along and support these young people and our armed forces, past and present.”

The Chin Up project will run for one more year and the young people from the group would like armed forces personnel, past and present to visit their stand to share their memories of wartime entertainment. Were you in involved in a military concert? Were you there when Ed Sheeran, Kathryn Jenkins, Cheryl Cole or Al Murray entertained troops at Camp Bastion?

Whatever your story come and find the Chin Up team and share your stories or find out how you can get involved in the next stage of the project.
Chin up can be found on Facebook (www.facebook.com/chinupproject). The project is delivered by Promenade Promotions (https://promprom.wordpress.com) and Doorstep Arts (www.doorsteparts.co.uk/theatre/) for Torbay Council.
