There will be some additional changes to waste and recycling services in Torbay as of Friday 3 April, due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation.

Torbay Council is providing support for the local community during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, including delivering food parcels to the residents who the government has identified as the most vulnerable in Torbay.

As part of our ongoing response to Coronavirus and the government guidance on social distancing, car parks in the area are being rationalised.

The way in which we provide some of our services has changed following the Government’s advice on how to help limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Children and families are being urged to stay away from playgrounds in Torbay to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus.

Key workers including NHS and social care and emergency services staff will not have to pay for parking in our car parks and in on street pay and display areas.

As a result of government advice surrounding Covid-19 (Coronavirus) we have taken the decision to suspend its major planned highway works.

In line with government guidance on COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the provision of all non-essential Torbay Council environmental services and facilities are either being suspended, reduced or closed temporarily.

During the Coronavirus outbreak, local bus service providers are making a number of changes to their services and timetables to respond to the latest government advice.

During this current climate, we would ask that all residents park sensibly and do not park on double yellow lines to ensure emergency services, waste collections and deliveries of essential supplies, are not stopped

English Riviera Airshow has been cancelled.

In light of the Government’s guidance on social distancing, between 23 March and 30 April 2020, all of the Council’s public decision making meetings have been cancelled.  This will be kept under review on a month-by-month basis.

Bus pass holders in the Torbay area can now use their bus pass for free travel on local services at any time of day.

Funding to continue support work for those who find themselves street homeless in Torbay has been secured for a further year.

A number of roadworks will be taking place across Torbay throughout March and April.
