Bay Walks is a programme of regular led walks in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. If you are looking to improve your health, or would like to meet new people, then Bay Walks could be for you! It’s fun and sociable to walk with others, and in the process you will discover interesting and beautiful parts of the Bay, enjoy the view and feel healthier in all ways. All walks are led by trained volunteers, are free and open to everyone.
Don’t worry about your current ability
All walks are graded to allow you to choose the most suitable one for you. Short walks are recommended for beginners or those recovering from surgery or for those with mobility limitations. Most walks have two walk leaders to cater for all different abilities.
Regular walks can help to improve all aspects of both physical and mental health. Some of the areas that can be improved through walking are:
- Confidence, stamina and energy
- Weight control
- High blood pressure
- Osteoporosis
- Coronary heart disease
- Anxiety and stress
