Find out more about the work we are doing to regenerate Torbay Road and Station Square in Paignton.
Station Square and Torbay Road are some of the most popular areas in Paignton. The area has good transport links and is the social hub of the town.
We have allocated over £3million of Future High Streets Funding to make improvements to these areas.
We have been working with and listening to the community since 2015 to develop plans for the area that will:

Improvements to Torbay Road will be made in phases, beginning with the creation of new spaces for blue badge holders and Hackney taxi ranks. New proposed ranks will be introduced at the eastern and western ends of Torbay Road.
We have worked with the Hackney Carriage trade on the arrangements and hope to have the Torbay Road taxi ranks in place and operational before the closure of the Station Square rank.
A temporary taxi rank will be introduced on Hyde Road once work on the project starts.
We do not yet have the detailed programme of works from the contractor. As soon as we have this information, we will share this with you and provide information on any adjustments you might need to make to your journey.
During the work, Paignton town centre will remain open and accessible for shoppers, businesses, and visitors.
