A Friends group is formed when, ideally, six or more people come together with shared aims for their local green space(s).
Each group has its own constitution, which sets out clear aims and objectives, decided together by the Friends group.
The activities of a Friends group are dependent on the level of commitment that can be undertaken by its members. Groups can operate at a low level, maybe meeting or issuing a newsletter annually. Alternatively, they can be much more active, lobbying support to develop the park, raising funds for physical improvements or organising local events and activities. It is entirely up to the group what level of activity you undertake.
If you are looking to form a Friends group related to one of Torbay’s green spaces, it is important to consult with us we they manage many, but not all, public green spaces in the bay.
