Rough Sleeping Find out what to do if you are worried about someone sleeping rough.

We understand the importance of assistance dogs. They support their owners' daily activities and well-being. We have a commitment to accessibility. Working/assistance dogs are permitted on all Torbay beaches, all year round.

We want everyone to have a comfortable experience on the beach. We kindly request that all assistance dogs are clearly identified as such with a vest or harness. This helps to inform other beachgoers. They will then understand why the dog is on the beach and welcome it.

Torre Abbey Sands is an excellent long sandy beach west of Torquay harbour and is located along the seafront in Torquay. This is the main beach for Torquay and is popular with holidaymakers from the surrounding hotels, day visitors and locals. The sandy beach is great for making sandcastles and rests between rock headlands which provide a safe sheltered area.

There are plenty of attractions nearby including the Princess Pier, Royal Terrace Gardens (Rock Walk), Princess Gardens, and Abbey Park and Meadows is just across the road from the beach. The beach is an easy walk to the town centre of Torquay and some of the main areas of accommodation.

You can hire various water craft.
