We understand the importance of assistance dogs. They support their owners' daily activities and well-being. We have a commitment to accessibility. Working/assistance dogs are permitted on all Torbay beaches, all year round.
We want everyone to have a comfortable experience on the beach. We kindly request that all assistance dogs are clearly identified as such with a vest or harness. This helps to inform other beachgoers. They will then understand why the dog is on the beach and welcome it.
Preston is red sand beach just a short walk from Paignton Sands and is very popular with families.
Behind the beach is Preston Green which runs the length of the beach and is a safe area for the children to have fun or play a game of football or cricket. The long promenade provides a level walk to both ends of the beach and has brightly colourful beach huts that you can hire out for the day.
At low tide interesting rock pools are exposed at the northern end of the beach.
