We understand the importance of assistance dogs. They support their owners' daily activities and well-being. We have a commitment to accessibility. Working/assistance dogs are permitted on all Torbay beaches, all year round.
We want everyone to have a comfortable experience on the beach. We kindly request that all assistance dogs are clearly identified as such with a vest or harness. This helps to inform other beachgoers. They will then understand why the dog is on the beach and welcome it.
Broadsands is a beautiful long sandy beach in an idyllic rural setting. It's gently sloping gradient makes it a popular choice for families with children or those wishing to distance themselves from amusement arcades. At low tide interesting rock pools are exposed at the southern end of the beach and there is a large area of parkland directly behind the beach, the perfect spot for a game of football or cricket.
The long promenade provides a level walk to both ends of the beach and has brightly colourful beach huts that you can hire out for the day.
Its location makes it an ideal starting point for scenic coastal walks.
Café/restaurant, annual beach hut and cabin hire, visitor cabin hire, deckchair hire, boat hire, and beach showers. Boats less than 4½hp can be launched from the slipway. Designated windsurfing area.
This beach is being managed by us with help from Broadsands Watersports. If you encounter a problem with the beach operation please contact either Broadsands Watersportsorour Beaches and Coastline Team.
