We understand the importance of assistance dogs. They support their owners' daily activities and well-being. We have a commitment to accessibility. Working/assistance dogs are permitted on all Torbay beaches, all year round.
We want everyone to have a comfortable experience on the beach. We kindly request that all assistance dogs are clearly identified as such with a vest or harness. This helps to inform other beachgoers. They will then understand why the dog is on the beach and welcome it.
Breakwater is a small shingle beach next to the picturesque Brixham Harbour and the long breakwater.
With its calm warm waters it is a favourite for scuba diving. There are fish, seahorses, seagrass and interesting underwater landscapes to be seen.
As the beach is right next to the bustling harbour side, there are shops and cafes on hand. The café has superb views across the bay.
Café/restaurant, pier, beach huts and deckchair hire.
