Friend and family evictions

Find out how we can help if you are living with friends or family and they have asked you to leave.

Being asked to leave when living with friends or family is a common cause of homelessness and can be very upsetting for everyone involved. We will try to talk with your family or friends to help you stay in your home.

Staying in a safe home means you can plan your future housing with our help, avoiding unnecessary disruption.

Mediation

If you need help solving problems with the people you live with, you could try mediation. It can help find solutions that work for everyone, but you might have to pay for it.

Contact the National Family Mediation service in Torbay for friend and family evictions.

What Happens Next

Contact us using the details below and we will call you to discuss your situation and talk to the person asking you to leave. The person asking you to leave must be there when we call.

During the call, we will discuss your housing options in full. We will try to prevent you from becoming homeless immediately and give you time to explore your options.

Together, we can make a plan for you to move on.
