Find out how to renew a licence for a house in multiple occupation (HMO).

Renew your HMO licence with ease

You can seamlessly renew your HMO licence if the following conditions are met: 

  • You currently hold a mandatory HMO licence. 
  • The licence holders remain the same. 
  • You apply before your current licence expires. 
  • There are no changes to the type of licence required for your property. 

Avoid late fees 

Submit your renewal application on time to avoid the higher forced renewal application fee. 

Flexible fee structure 

Our fees are structured to provide flexibility and convenience: 

  • Each licence is valid for up to 5 years. 
  • Pay in two parts or as a single payment. 

Fee breakdown 

  • Licence processing fee: Payable upon application submission. This fee is non-refundable if the application is unsuccessful or withdrawn. 
  • Administration and compliance fee: Payable once your application is approved. 

Important note: Your application is considered complete only when both fees are paid. The final licence will be issued after full payment is received.

Renew your licence with ease

To renew your licence, complete the application form and select “renewal” in section 2. 

Streamlined floor plan process 

  • If we have your floor plans on file, we’ll send them to you. You can easily update any changes or confirm that nothing has changed. 
  • If we don’t have your floor plans or they lack sufficient detail, we may request new ones from you.
