Torbay is part of the Heart of the South West (HotSW) Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area and, following the devolution of funding for major local transport schemes by the Government, has helped in the formation of the Local Transport Board (LTB) for the area.

The Board is composed of one elected Member from each local transport authority - Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay, with two representatives from the LEP, and observers from Network Rail and the Highways Agency.

The Board, through collaborative working with the LEP, has secured funding through the Government’s Growth Deal programmes and will continue to bid annually for future Growth Deals.
