Draft food strategy consultation

We would like your help to improve the availability of fresh, sustainable and healthy food for the people of Torbay.

We want to hear from everyone, from those who live in the Bay to community groups, businesses and local public sector organisations.

Throughout this consultation, we refer to our local food system. By food system we are referring to the different organisations and processes involved in feeding Torbay’s population.

We want to make Torbay a place where our food system is socially and economically, sustainable and resilient. This includes making it easier for residents to grow their own food and have access to good food even during tough times.

We also want to promote the benefits of local food in Torbay and support businesses and consumers to buy local produce wherever possible.

This consultation builds upon previous engagement work around the local food system which was held from 2020 with local stakeholders. This particular survey seeks to gather views on how we make sufficient good food accessible to all and make our vision a reality.

The findings from this survey will help to shape the development of a resilient and sustainable local food system in Torbay.

We are keen to hear your thoughts on our draft vision and priority areas.

Please share your thoughts via our survey by midnight on 1 November.
