Discretionary Housing Payments Policy

The purpose of this policy is to specify how we will run the DHP scheme in Torbay. It ensures that we will act fairly, reasonably and consistently throughout the DHP decision making process.

All claimants will be treated equally and fairly and in accordance with our policies.

Safeguarding Policy

The safeguarding policy sets out the guidelines by which officers will make decisions on Local Housing Allowance and has been developed in consultation with stakeholders across the Bay.

The LHA Safeguard Policy provides safeguards for both landlords and tenants and aims to prevent rent arrears accruing and tenants being put at risk of eviction.
