All types of discretionary assistance offered through this policy will be managed by our DFG service.
For mandatory disabled facilities grants, three options are available to you regarding how an application can be supported and made.
Our DFG support service will manage the application and work on your behalf. This is the easiest and least stressful option for you, particularly for more extensive adaptations. We will:
We will include the relevant fee* in the eligible costs to support your application.
This option is where you want to use our disabled facilities grant support service to prepare the DFG application but want to choose the contractor to carry out the work.
We will give you an information pack if you would like to take this option. It will include details of the role that the DFG support service will have and the responsibilities regarding the work which will transfer to you after the application.
We will include the relevant fee* in the eligible costs to support your application.
This option is where you want to manage the application and process yourself. You can use your architect or draftsperson and contractors to plan, develop or build a preferred scheme.
We will give you an information pack if you would like to take this option. It tells you what you need to do to make a DFG application and the requirements to get DFG funding.
*This fee is amended annually.
