Caravan pitch or boat mooring

Find out about applying for a reduction in council tax if your caravan or boat mooring is empty.

Pitches or moorings that are not occupied are exempt from Council Tax. Charges will apply when a caravan or boat moves on to the pitch or mooring. The person living in the caravan or boat must then pay Council Tax if it is their sole or main residence.

You can apply for a Council Tax exemption if the pitch or mooring is empty.

If your application is successful, you will get a new council tax bill showing your reduction.
