Information on becoming a childminder
Would you like to have a conversation about becoming a registered childminder?
All childminders are registered with Ofsted or with a childminder agency. OFSTED information is available here.
An online pre-registration briefing module is available for free on iLearn. It outlines the role and responsibilities of childminders.
As a childminder, you can work from your own home. This is classed as a domestic premises. You can also work from non-domestic premises. This could be an outdoor space, religious venue or village hall.
If you are planning on providing food to the children in your care, you will have to register this with Torbay Council.
