• Contact Planning to check that your premises have the correct planning permission

• Check with Licensing to see if you need to register with them

• Contact Business Rates

• Set up a documented food safety management system

• Get food hygiene training

• Book a food hygiene advice visit to help you prepare for a food hygiene inspection

• Decide how you will deal with the waste from your business

• Learn about the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
