RIDDOR reporting, are you up to date?

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has released updates to guidance to help organisations to understand how and when to submit a report under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR).

There are no changes to any legal requirements but the updates include more direct links to guidance on types of reportable incidents to help you decide whether a report is required, as well as improved guidance on who should and should not report under RIDDOR. The guidance also details what is meant by a ‘work-related’ accident, information on when an occupational disease is not reportable, and increased clarity on when an ‘over-7-day’ absence should be reported.

Brixham Boil Water Notice Update

South West Water have advised that businesses impacted by the boil notice will receive a standard £15 customer promise, and are invited to contact their dedicated business line (03332 343 293, open 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 2pm) to discuss the impact the incident has had on their business and the compensation appropriate to them.

Switch up your cleaning regime

Over time, through frequent touching of hand contact surfaces, dirt and bacteria build up and are spread wherever your hands next touch.

However, regular cleaning of these surfaces with your sanitiser, as part of your daily duties, will remove this contamination and prevent it from being spread.

Ensure your sanitiser complies with the British Standard EN 1276 and/or EN 13697.

Hand contact surface examples include taps, soap dispensers, light switches, light pulls, electrical socket switches, toilet flushes, door handles, door push plates, sliding cupboard handles, temperature probe handle, mobile phone & tablet screens.
