The Ambassadors job is to share things which people with learning disabilities are talking about and may need help with. They also check that work is being done as agreed. The Ambassadors give people with learning disabilities a voice in Torbay.
Neil is the Co-Chair of the Torbay Learning Disability Partnership Board. He is an experienced manager having worked as Director for Thera.
Neil enjoys football and provides weekly radio commentary for his favourite club in Lanzarote. Neil’s favourite animal is the sloth and he loves honey rum and pizza with banana on it!
Tracie is the vice -chair for the Torbay Learning Disability Partnership Board. She is an experienced Quality Checker and works to deliver training about Easy Read information and Reasonable Adjustments.
Tracie is a talented artist and has produced beautiful artwork including the cover for the Big Plan (the Learning Disability strategy) for Torbay.
Tracie enjoys swimming, walking and dog care, she lives in Brixham and is a great artist.
Mike is the joint Co-Chair for the Torbay Learning Disability Partnership Board.
Mike has worked for Devon Link Up for more than 8 years and enjoys his role in training others about Reasonable Adjustments and Easy Read information. He is a confident public speaker and has spoken to many groups and large meetings.
Mike enjoys travel and is knowledgeable about buses and trains and is a fan of Sci-fi.
Lorraine is the hospitality expert for the Learning Disability Partnership Board and makes sure everyone is made welcome and has refreshments.
Lorraine has worked for more than 20 years in Care settings and brings her knowledge to the work of the Board.
Lorraine likes walking and wildlife, she has a wide knowledge of birds and animals and enjoys living in such a beautiful place.
Shaun is a DJ with a great knowledge of music which he uses to make sure everyone has a good time when he is working.
He also takes part in martial arts and is sharing with others about the benefits of this sport.
Shaun’s involvement with the Board reminds the team about the need to work for everyone with disabilities and to consider the wider community in everything.
Mark is the site supervisor for the Ambassadors and makes sure everything is ready for the meetings.
Mark is a reliable, helpful member of the team working for the Ambassadors and also Gateway Torbay.
He likes cruises and enjoys going on holiday with his family.
Suzanne is the newest member of the Ambassador team.
Suzanne has been involved in leading service user groups and has delivered training to students at the University of Plymouth.
Suzanne brings a lot of experience and has been caring for her family, making sure they get good care and support.
She likes being busy and enjoys holidays, dancing, Zumba, social activities and football.
