To elect a Chairman/woman for the meeting.

Councillor Chris Lewis was elected as Chairman of the Employment Committee for the meeting.

It was reported that, in accordance with the wishes of the Liberal Democrat Group and Conservative Group, the membership of the Committee had been amended to include Councillors Long and Barbara Lewis in place of Councillors Steve Darling and David Thomas.  An apology for absence was recorded for Councillor Law.

Prior to consideration of the item in Minute 4 the press and public were formally excluded from the meeting on the grounds that the item involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To consider the recruitment process for the Director of Adults and Community Services.  

The Committee considered the submitted exempt report on the proposed recruitment for the post of Director of Adults and Community Services.

Resolved (unanimously):

The decision in respect of Minute 4 is restricted due to exempt information contained within the decision.
