It was reported that, in accordance with the wishes of the Liberal Democrat Group and the Conservative Group, the membership of the Committee had been amended to include Councillors Long and Bye instead of Councillors Steve Darling and Chris Lewis respectively. 

In the absence of the Chairman (Councillor Steve Darling), Councillor Long was elected as Chairman for the meeting.

The Minutes of the meeting of the Employment Committee held on 4 May 2022 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

Prior to consideration of the item in Minute 75 the press and public were formally excluded from the meeting on the grounds that the item involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To consider the submitted exempt report on Staffing Matters.

The Committee considered the submitted exempt report on the proposed recruitment for the post of Interim Managing Director of TDA.  Vince Flower, Chairman of TDA attended the meeting and supported the proposed appointment.

Resolved (unanimously):

That Liam Montgomery be appointed as Interim Managing Director of TDA with effect from 1 June 2022.
