Off Street Amendment Order No7 2024 – New conditions relating to the My Bay parking permit scheme (off street parking places)
Decision Maker: Director of Pride in Place
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
To approve the proposals in the above Order, ensuring that there are conditions of use for this new permit.
Reasons for the decision:
The new ‘My Bay’ scheme provides residents with the opportunity to obtain a parking permit allowing them to park for one additional hour beyond the expiry of any time paid for in Torbay Councils off street parking places (car parks), this Order provides conditions of use for the car park permit element of the scheme. The proposals were advertised on 16th October 2024, no objections were received within the 21 days consultation period.
Alternative options considered:
Not to approve the Order, meaning the ‘My Bay’ permit would not be a recognised permit scheme in Torbay Council car parks. This would directly impact on the enforcement of Council off street parking places as there would be no formal conditions of use in place for the permit scheme.
Implementation:
Applications for the ‘My Bay’ scheme are already underway, with the scheme going live in January 2025.
Information:
The proposals within this Order are to provide conditions of use for Torbay Councils ‘My Bay’ parking permit scheme.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
