Purpose:
The Public Sector Equality Duty requires public authorities to agree a set Equality Objectives that sets out how we intend to perform against the equality duty and the outcomes to be achieved.
Decision:
To publish for consultation the draft Equality Objectives 2016 – 2020.
Reasons for the decision:
To enable a six week consultation period on the draft strategy to be carried out in accordance with the paragraph F4.1 of the Standing Orders – Budget and Policy Framework.
Alternative options considered:
None.
Implementation:
This decision will come into force on 9 March 2016, so as to commence the formal six week consultation process on this policy framework document.

The Public Sector Equality Duty requires all public bodies to publish one or more objective(s) that they think they should achieve in order to meet the duty. The Draft Equality Objectives 2016 – 2020 are built around existing key outcomes and activities.
