Crime and Disorder
1. A CCTV system of an evidential standard shall be installed to the satisfaction of the police, and the system to be in operation at all times the premises are open to the public. This shall include a camera outside of the store. All recordings from the system shall be kept for a period of 31 days and the police to have access to recordings at any reasonable time.
Protection of Children from Harm
1. There shall be an over 21 policy for identification purposes to identify those who are under 18 for the sale of alcohol.
2. There shall be signage at the point of entry to the store and the point of sale telling customers that it is illegal to sell alcohol to under 18's.
3. There shall be signage at the point of sale to remind the seller that alcohol shall not be sold to under 18's.
4. There shall be signage at the point of sale to remind staff what forms of identification to accept if the person looks under 21.
5. The premises shall have and use a refusals register.
6. There shall be a procedure to raise awareness as to when children are off school such as summer holidays and weekends so as to be extra vigilant.
7. Alcohol shall be sold by counter service only.
8. Training of staff shall include ID and underage issues with a register kept of such training.
9. The premises shall have an Electronic Point of Sales System (EPOS System) that read the barcodes on goods at the point of sale and if the goods being purchased are age restricted, such as alcohol, the operator shall be required to check the customers age before the transaction is processed.
