CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
Conditions from Operating Schedule
(a) General
Staff must be trained in personal and social responsibilities, underage drinking, drugs, DDA, drunkenness, fire, health & safety and potential trouble areas.
(b) Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. The premises shall be signed up to the Portman Group Code of Conduct and cheap drink promotions shall be avoided.
2. A responsible service must be implemented to avoid drunkenness
3. A substantial food menu must be offered.
4. CCTV must be fitted, operated and maintained to the satisfaction of the Chief Officer of Police.
(c) Public Safety
1. A fire risk assessment must be in place with occupancy for licensable areas.
2. Emergency lighting must be fitted as well as a fire alarm system.
3. Safe capacity limits of 175 for the ground floor and 100 for the first floor must be adhered to.
4. Smoke filters must be fitted to smoking permitted areas and no smoking areas shall be provided.
5. The fire safety measures with which the premises are provided must be maintained in good working order, and their adequacy shall be determined on a regular basis, by the carrying out of a fire risk assessment, as required by, and in accordance with the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations.
(d) The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. Noise must be monitored to ensure that it is kept to a level so as not to annoy neighbours.
2. Notices must be displayed to encourage customers to leave the premises quietly.
3. A list of taxi contact numbers shall be available.
(e) The Protection of Children from Harm
1. The premises' policy is that if a young person, who appears to be 21 or under, asks for alcohol, they must be required to prove their age before they are served, unless the bar staff are certain (from personal knowledge or because they have seen proof of age on a previous occasion) that the person is 18 or over.
2. The forms of proof of age that we will accept are a passport, a photo driving licence, or a proof-of-age card that has the PASS accreditation hologram on it. Photocopies must not be accepted. All staf must be trained in this policy and reminded about it frequently. Records of this training shall be kept.
3. A notice advising customers that they may be required to prove their age before they can buy alcohol must be displayed at the bar.
4. Gaming machines must be clearly marked for use of over 18's only.
5. Cigarette machines must be clearly marked for use of over 16's only.
