The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. There shall be outside lighting and no disorderly conduct.
2. Till drawers shall be removed and cash taken away.
Public Safety
1. There shall be a first aid box and accident book available.
2. Emergency exits shall be kept clear.
3. Signage shall be available for wet floors.
4. There must be fire and safety equipment.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. Noise or vibration shall not emanate from the premises such as to cause persons in the neighbourhood to be unreasonably disturbed. In general terms, noise from the premises should not be audible within any noise sensitive premises (e.g. dwelling) with windows open for normal ventilation especially after 11pm. This shall be assessed from the boundary to the nearest residential properties, on all sides of the licensed premises. The criteria that shall be applied are;
(i) Before 11pm - Noise emanating from the premises shall not be clearly distinguishable above other noise.
(ii) After 11pm - Noise emanating from the premises shall not be distinguishable above background levels of noise.
(iii) The local authority shall reserve the right in cases of tonal noise and where premises are attached to others (i.e. semi's and terraced properties), to make further assessments from within the residential property.
2. Doors and windows shall be kept shut during entertainment. To reduce noise breakout. A management scheme shall be in place to ensure this situation remains.
3. Staff shall check prior to entertainment, and periodically during the entertainment, that all windows and doors are shut.
4. A senior member of staff (manager) shall assess the impact of any noisy activities on neighbouring residential premises at the start of the activity/entertainment and periodically throughout the activity/entertainment to ensure levels of noise have not increased.
5. Provision of mechanical ventilation and air conditioning system shall not allow noise breakout from the premises or cause a nuisance by its operation.
6. Bottle skips and bins containing cans or bottles shall not be emptied outside after closing but shall be dealt with the next day during normal office hours.
7. Cooking, noxious or persistent smells from the premises shall not cause a nuisance to nearby properties and the premises must be properly vented.
8. When food for consumption off the premises is sold, adequate waste receptacles for use by patrons shall be provided in the local vicinity. All the rubbish produced by the premises shall be stored securely in a designated area or in a bin with a tight fitting lid. This shall help prevent litter being blown around.
The Protection of Children from Harm
1. Children shall always be in the company of an adult.
2. ID shall be provided on request.
