The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. A CCTV system of an evidential standard must be installed to the satisfaction of the police, to include exterior coverage of the entrance/exit of the premises. Such system to include a recording monitor, to be positioned in full view of staff and customers. The CCTV system shall be in operation at all times the premises are open to the public and all recordings from that system to be kept for a period for 14 days and the police to have access to recordings at any reasonable time.
2. Premises shall join and maintain membership of the Nitenet/Storenet Radio Communications Scheme.
3. All staff employed at the premises in the sale and supply of alcohol shall have received in house training by McColls on the responsible sale of alcohol.
4. All staff employed at the premises in the sale and supply of alcohol shall complete and attain the BIIAB Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing within 2 months of the commencement of their employment and in respect of existing staff by the end of February 2010.
5. A full record of all training shall be kept on the premises, together with a copy of the BIIAB Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing Certificate, and be available for inspection by the Police, Trading Standards and Local Authority Licensing Team at all times.
6. There shall be a minimum of two members of staff on duty at all times the premises are open.
The Protection of Children from Harm
1. The premises shall keep a Refusals Register, which shall be maintained and available for inspection at all times by the police and the Local Authority Licensing and Trading Standards Teams.
2. Staff shall only accept identification as set out in the Torbay Council Licensing Policy Document under the heading of the Protection of Children from Harm.
3. The premises shall operate a Challenge 25 Policy and display signage to this effect.
4. There shall be signage at the point of entry to the store and the point of sale telling customers that it is illegal to sell alcohol to under 18's.
5. There shall be signage at the point of sale to remind staff that alcohol shall not be sold to under 18's.
6. There shall be signage at the point of sale to remind staff what forms of identification to accept if the person looks under 25.
7. The premises shall have an Electronic Point of Sale System (EPOS system) that reads the barcodes on goods at the point of sale and if the goods being purchased are age restricted, such as alcohol, the operator shall be required to check the customer's age before the transaction is processed.
