ANNEXE 2 - Conditions
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. Premises location will be kept as private as possible
2. Premises will be secured when unattended
3. Premises rear and front access will be locked when not in use
4. Ale Casks and bottles will not to be left outside the premises on easy public view.
5. When being transported in vehicles casks and bottles will be kept out of view and not left unattended in vehicles for any significant length of time.
6. Ale will not be left in any vehicle overnight.
7. Demonstrate a responsible approach to alcohol sales by not taking part in any heavily discounted drinking promotions.
8. Staff will remain vigilant for any alcohol dependant customers and refuse to sell such people.
9. Staff will refuse sales to anyone under age 18.
10. Staff will refuse sales to anyone who appears to be drunk
11. Licence holder will have an incident log on site to record telephone calls, complaints and refusals to supply alcohol.
Public Safety
1. Staff will prevent any harm to Public by not permitting public onto the premises while brewing.
2. Safeguards and procedures for employees while working in the brewery to control hazards such as hot liquids, electricity, chemicals and manual handling ingredients, finished product and waste.
3. Storage and use of chemicals in accordance with COSHH
4. Personal Protection Equipment will be provided.
5. Premises will adhere to good housekeeping and washing facilities.
6. Safe transportation of ingredients and delivery to customers.
7. Lone working risk assessment,
8. Premises will be compliant with the Fire Safety Order.
9. Licence holder will ensure a First Aid Kit is available and maintained in the premises.
10. Trained First Aider to be available.
11. Land Line or Mobile phone will be in the premises for calling the emergency services.
12. Premsies will have good ventilation - ventilation fan will be provided.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. The Premises is insulated to prevent any noise breakout although the brewing process does not generate any appreciable noise. Doors will be kept shut during any potentially noisy activities.
2. The Public will not normally be permitted to buy from the premises so there will be no additional traffic or people visiting, causing any obstruction or noise. Any personal callers to purchases the Ale will be by appointment only. Deliveries are by private car or small van and kept to a minimum.
3. There is no floodlighting other than the usual security lighting normally used in residential properties.
4. The boiler exhaust will be directed to a condenser to remove any vapours and odour. The brewery will not produce any fumes or emissions to cause a nuisance to occupants of nearby residential properties.
5. The waste products of the brewing are barley and hops that have been processed. This commodity is recycled as compost or animal feed. This will be removed after each brewing day within a day or two and taken to a suitable place for disposal. Transport will be a private car or van, 2 or 3 times a month.
The Protection of Children from harm
1. If any children do visit the brewery, they will be accompanied by a responsible adult and supervised by the DPS. In any case children and general public are not permitted in the brewery while the Brewery is in production.
2. There will be no under 18 year old persons employed to work in the premises.
3. Premises will adhere to the Challenge 25 Scheme.
4. Persons that appear to be under 25 years of age will be asked for one of the following forms of identification:
1. Passport
2. Driving Licence photo card
3. Proof of age standards scheme (PASS) card.
4. Identity card issued by HM Forces or by European Union Country bearing a photograph and date of birth.
5. Staff will be trained in accordance with licensing recommendations regarding age related sales. Training to be reviewed on an annual basis.
