a) General
1. We have liaised with the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary (Pete Cosby) in Exeter and Devon Fire & Rescue Service in Torquay regading the requirements that we need to comply with to meet the standards set by them and Torbay Council and have informed the other relevant responsible authorities of our intentions to safely and successfully comply with the four licensing objectives. I.e. The Prevention of Crime and Disorder, Public Safety, The Prevention of Public Nuisance and the Protection of Children from Harm.
b) The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. We shall to install a fully operational cctv system on our premies located inside and to cover outside the shop area for the security and safety of customers, public and staff involved.
2. We shall operate the challenge 25 policy to prevent the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 18.
3. We shall ensure that we will not serve any person who is already intoxicated, i.e drunk and disorderly on our premises. We shall Inform the Police as soon as possible if we believe a situation could escalate, to prevent further risk or danger to customers, public and staff.
c) Public Safety
1. We shall ensure that the relevant fire regulations are met by installing the correct fire safety equipment. I have spoken to Devon Fire and Rescue service and have received the Fire Safety Risk Assessment form which we have carried out and shall comply with the relevant safety legislations.
2. A first aid kit shall be kept on the shop premises.
3. All parts of the premises i.e. shop fittings, lighting, heating and electrical installation shall be maintained at all times in good order and in a safe condition.
4. A log book shall be kept by staff, for any inspections that may be required by the relevant authority.
d) The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. We shall ensure that there is at all times minimum disruption to local residents. We shall display a notice for the customers upon leaving, asking to keep noise to a minimum and to respect the neighbours.
2. We shall ensure that we will not serve any person who is already intoxicated, i.e drunk and disorderly on our premises. We shall inform the Police as soon as possible if we believe a situation could escalate, to prevent further risk or danger to customers, public and staff.
e) The Protection of Children from Harm
1. We shall strictly operate the challenge 25 policy to prevent the sale of alcohol to persons under the age of 18 and any persons believed to be buying alcohol on behalf of a minor.
2. We shall display the challenge 25 signs and a notice showing acceptable forms of i.d, made clearly visible to the public.
