General
1. The Challenge 21 policy shall be introduced to the shop, this shall be brought to the customers attention through point of sale material at the till counter and where alcohol is displayed for sale.
2. Staff training and reviews/refresher material shall be regularly reviewed.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. CCTV equipment shall activate and operate at the premises throughout trading hours. Recorded material shall be retained for at least 14 days and shall be available for inspection if requested by Police or Authorised officer of the Local Authority.
2. There shall be no sale of alcohol to under 18s.
3. There shall be no sale to those purchasing alcohol on behalf of under 18s.
4. There shall be no sale of alcohol to anyone who appears drunk.
5. A manager shall be on the premises all the time the store is open, taking responsibility of the premises.
6. All spirits shall be displayed behind the counter and to be sold by way of counter service only.
Public Safety
1. Minimal stock of alcohol shall be kept at the premises.
2. A fire extinguisher shall be available for use by staff in emergency.
3. The shop shall adhere to all rules and regulations relating to Public Safety.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. It is not foreseen that the premises shall have an impact on local nuisance issues, they shall take the opportunity to liaise with police and enforcement authorities should the need arise. They intend to be an active member of the community.
The Protection of Children from Harm
1. The shop shall have the National Challenge 21 Policy. Proof of age shall be required for purchase of alcohol for those appearing to be under the age of 21. The only acceptable forms of ID are photocard driving licence, current passport, and age card with a PASS hologram.
2. The shop shall display signage around the premises informing both staff and customers of Challenge 21 Policy.
3. There shall be a refusal to serve record kept.
4. All staff shall be trained and regularly refreshed.
