The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. A CCTV system must be installed (two outdoor cameras, one at each side of the shop front and six inside the shop).
2. The CCTV system must be in operation at all times and shall be of evidential standard.
3. All CCTV recordings shall be kept for 14 consecutive days and the police shall have access to the recordings if needed at any time.
4. Suitable signage informing people that CCTV is in operation shall be displayed.
Public Safety
1. All staff shall receive suitable training about what to do in an emergency and in general safety precautions.
2. A log book shall be kept upon the premises in which shall be entered particulars of inspections made, those required by statue, and information compiled to comply with any public safety condition attached to the premises licence that requires the recording of such information.
3. The logbook shall be kept available and produced for inspection when required by persons authorised by the Licensing Act 2003 or associated legislation.
4. Suitable signage such as (No Drinking Zone), there shall be clear legible notice by the door of the premises.
5. Fire alarm must be installed and maintained.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. Noise or vibration shall not emanate from the premises such as to cause persons in the neighbourhood to be unreasonably disturbed. In general terms, noise from the premises should not be audible within any noise sensitive premises with windows open for normal ventilation especially after 11pm. This shall be assessed from the boundary to the nearest residential properties, on all sides of the licensed premises. The criteria that shall be applied are:-
- Before 11pm - Noise emanating from the premises shall not be clearly distinguishable above other noise.
- After 11pm - Noise emanating from the premises shall not be distinguishable above background levels of noise.
2. Deliveries of food or other materials necessary for the operation of the business shall be carried out at such a time or in such a manner as to prevent nuisance and disturbance to nearby residents.
3. All staff shall have received suitable training as to what to do in an emergency and in general safety precautions.
4. Prominent, clear and legible notices shall be displayed at all exits requesting the public to respect the needs of local residents and to leave the premises and the area quietly (no drinking zone).
The Protection of Children from Harm
1. Children below the age of 18 shall be excluded from the premises between the hours of 23.00 to 05.00.
2. Adult magazines shall be placed on top shelves of the magazine stand with clear signage stating the age restriction.
3. Alcohol and tobacco shall be behind and next to the counter.
4. There shall be suitable signage indicating (No ID No SALE, Challenge 21 policy, list of ID's accepted as valid).
5. There shall be suitable and ongoing training of the staff about alcohol sale policy to under 18's, and shall keep a record of training with signatures of each member or staff.
6. There shall be a refusals register to record sales when customer unable to produce a valid photo-ID and therefore the sale refused.
