General
1 Staff must be fully trained in their responsibilities with regard to the sale of alcohol and shall be retrained every six months.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
2 CCTV must be provided and maintained in good working order.
3 Current security measures on the premises must remain in operation.
4 Staff must be fully trained in security issues for the premises.
Public Safety
5 Staff shall be trained to be alert to any potential situations and react accordingly.
6 If staff are unable to quickly diffuse a situation they must be instructed to contact the police.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
7 Youths shall be requested not to loiter around the entrance to the premises.
8 The entrance to the premises, visible from the till point area, shall be monitored by staff.
9 CCTV cameras shall monitor the entrance to the premises.
The Protection of Children from Harm
10 Photographic identification only may be accepted (passport, driving licence, citizen card with hologram).
11 Anyone who appears under the age of 21 must be required to produce identification. If no identification can be produced then a sale must not be made.
12 A ‘No ID No Sale’ policy shall be in operation.
13 Members of staff under the age of 18 must call a senior member of staff to complete any transaction including the sale of alcohol.
14 If it is known that a customer intends to purchase alcohol to provide it to minors then the sale must be refused.
