The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. All the staff must be given training on drug and alcohol abuse, this shall cover types of drugs used, signs of use and symptoms displayed by a person who has consumed drugs or excessive alcohol.
2. Door staff, who must all be SIA licensed, shall carry out random searches on persons entering the premises, and the police shall be asked to do random checks for drugs, using their drug detection machines and sniffer dogs.
3. The club must have CCTV cameras monitoring the inside and outside of the premises with the images being recorded on a hard drive.
4. The licensees shall aim to encourage responsible drinking by displaying information, and offering reduced price or free soft drinks to designated drivers.
Public Safety
1. The premises must have an announcing fire alarm fitted along with fully maintained emergency lighting. Once activitated all power to the sound system shall be switched off automatically.
2. The fire exits must be clearly marked with illuminated exit signs.
3. All exits but the main entrance must be fitted with push bar openers.
4. Door staff shall record the number of people entering the exiting the premises by the way of a manual counter.
5. Where possible staff shall check all rooms to ensure there are no members of the public left on the premises when the fire alarm has been activated.
6. If there are are disabled people on the premises a member of staff shall be assigned to ensure that they are led to safety.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. The sound system on the premises shall be kept to the required level by a noise limiter which shall prevent excessive noise.
2. There shall be a clean air filter installed to recycle clean air around the premises.
3. Notices shall be displayed asking people to be quiet when entering and leaving the premises.
4. Disturbances from queuing shall be regulated by SIA licensed door staff.
The Protection of Children From Harm
1. No persons under the age of 18 shall be permitted onto the premises.
2. SIA licensed door staff shall seek suitable ID (e.g. drivers licences and passports) from anyone who appears to be under 21 to prevent any person under the age of 18 entering the premises, all staff shall be trained in these procedures.
3. There shall be no cigarette machine on the premises as all cigarettes must be bought from behind the bar.
