The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
1. A CCTV system of evidential standard must be installed to the satisfaction of the police, and the system to be in operation at all times the premises are open to the public. All recordings from the system must be kept for a period of 14 days and the police shall be allowed access to recordings at any reasonable time.
2. The premises shall join and maintain membership of the Nitenet Radio Communications Scheme.
3. All drinks shall be served in toughened or strengthened glasses.
4. No drinks shall be served in Appleby's Emporium in glass bottles from which it is intended or likely that a person shall drink.
5. At any function other than a private function door stewards shall be provided from 23.00 hours at a ratio of 1 for every 75 persons present at the function.
Public Safety
1. Exits shall be clearly indicated and maintained to afford ready and ample means of safe escape.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
1. Noise or vibration shall not emanate from the premises such as to cause persons in the neighbourhood to be unreasonably disturbed. In general terms, noise from the premises shall not be audible within any noise sensitive premises (e.g. dwelling) with windows open for normal ventilation especially after 23.00 hours. This shall be assessed from the boundary to the nearest residential properties, on all sides of the licensed premises. The criteria to be applied are:-
a. before 23.00 hours: noise emanating from the premises shall not be clearly distinguishable above other noise.
b. after 23.00 hours: noise emanating from the premises shall not be distinguishable above background levels of noise.
2. Doors and windows facing on to any noise sensitive premises shall be kept shut during entertainment. A management scheme shall be in place to ensure compliance with this condition.
3. The volume of amplified sound used in connection with the entertainment provided shall at all times be under the control of the management and the controlling mechanism shall not be accessible to members of the public.
4. The placing of refuse in to receptacles outside the premises shall take place at times that will prevent disturbance to nearby properties.
5. The handling of beer kegs, bottles and other similar items shall not take place in the late evening, at night or during the early morning.
6. Notices shall be displayed requesting guests to leave in a quiet and orderly manner.
7. No live or amplified recorded music, other than incidental, shall be played in outdoor areas at any time after 19.00 hours.
8. Live music shall not be performed in outdoor areas on more than 3 days a week.
9. Noise levels shall be monitored at all times.
The Protection of Children From Harm
1. Bar staff shall be trained to be aware of and alert to issues of underage drinking.
2. When proof of age is required it shall be in the form of either:-
a. Passport
b. Photo card driving licence issued by an EU country
c. A Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) card
d. A CitizenCard, supported by the Home Office
e. An official identity card issued by HM Forces or by an EU country bearing a photograph and date of birth of the bearer.
