Reason for inclusion in Forward Plan: Invest to Save opportunity to further reduce the energy costs of street lighting in residential areas by replacement of the least efficient street lighting with low energy LED lanterns. Reduction of carbon emissions as a result of lower energy use.
Key Risks: Funding to be provided from loans which will require budget provision in future years to re-pay. There are significant timescales involved in the procurement and implementation process.
